Understanding the Dashboard

Header navigation, saved posts, auto-save, and where to find core actions.

The Skribt interface is designed for focused writing with everything you need within reach.

Header navigation

  • Skribt logo: Click to start a new post (you'll be asked to confirm if you have unsaved changes)
  • My Posts: Opens your saved posts dropdown
  • New Post: Start a fresh article (appears after you've begun writing)
  • Undo/Redo: Keyboard shortcuts ⌘Z / ⌘⇧Z also work in the editor
  • Export: Download or copy your article in various formats (writing phase only)
  • How this works: Opens an overview of the 5-phase process (input/brief/outline phases only)
  • Theme toggle: Switch between light and dark mode
  • Account: Your profile avatar with menu access

Saved posts dropdown

Click My Posts to see all your saved articles:

  • Posts are listed with title, word count, and last edited time
  • Click any post to load it back into the editor
  • Delete posts you no longer need (with confirmation)
  • Your current post is highlighted in the list

Auto-save indicator

In the writing phase, a status chip appears in the header showing your save state:

  • Saving (spinner): Currently saving to the cloud
  • Saved (green check): All changes saved
  • Unsaved (amber dot): Changes pending (auto-saves within 2 seconds)

Skribt automatically saves your work every 2 seconds when you make changes. Your drafts are also stored locally, so you won't lose work even if you close the browser.
