Understanding the Dashboard
Header navigation, saved posts, auto-save, and where to find core actions.
The Skribt interface is designed for focused writing with everything you need within reach.
Header navigation
- Skribt logo: Click to start a new post (you'll be asked to confirm if you have unsaved changes)
- My Posts: Opens your saved posts dropdown
- New Post: Start a fresh article (appears after you've begun writing)
- Undo/Redo: Keyboard shortcuts ⌘Z / ⌘⇧Z also work in the editor
- Export: Download or copy your article in various formats (writing phase only)
- How this works: Opens an overview of the 5-phase process (input/brief/outline phases only)
- Theme toggle: Switch between light and dark mode
- Account: Your profile avatar with menu access
Saved posts dropdown
Click My Posts to see all your saved articles:
- Posts are listed with title, word count, and last edited time
- Click any post to load it back into the editor
- Delete posts you no longer need (with confirmation)
- Your current post is highlighted in the list
Auto-save indicator
In the writing phase, a status chip appears in the header showing your save state:
- Saving (spinner): Currently saving to the cloud
- Saved (green check): All changes saved
- Unsaved (amber dot): Changes pending (auto-saves within 2 seconds)
Skribt automatically saves your work every 2 seconds when you make changes. Your drafts are also stored locally, so you won't lose work even if you close the browser.
