Creating Your First Article
Sign in, brief your topic, outline, generate, refine, and export your first post.
Step 1: Sign in
Click Sign in with Google in the top-right corner. Skribt uses Google authentication for a quick, secure login.
Step 2: Describe your topic
On the main screen, you'll see a centered text area asking "What do you want to write about?" Type your topic idea; be as specific or general as you'd like. Press Enter to continue.
Step 3: Review and customize your brief
Skribt generates a content brief. Review the suggested:
- Target audience
- Tone (click to change: professional, conversational, authoritative, etc.)
- Article length (short, medium, or long)
- Key points to cover
Optional: Add sources by pasting URLs, uploading documents (PDF, DOC, TXT, MD), or enabling Research the web to let Skribt find relevant sources automatically.
Step 4: Edit your outline
Click Generate outline to create your article structure. You can:
- Click any heading to rename it
- Press Tab to demote (H2 → H3) or Shift+Tab to promote (H3 → H2)
- Drag sections to reorder
- Add notes describing what each section should cover
- Use Ask Skribt to adjust the outline for AI-assisted changes
Step 5: Generate your article
Click Generate content and watch as Skribt writes your article. The progress indicator shows each step of the quality review process.
Step 6: Refine and polish
Your article appears in a clean editor. To refine any section:
- Highlight the text you want to change
- Choose an action from the floating menu: Expand, Shorten, Rephrase, or enter a custom prompt
- The AI applies your changes inline
Step 7: Check SEO and export
Open the SEO panel to review optimization suggestions. When ready, click Export to download as Markdown, HTML, plain text, or copy formatted for WordPress, Medium, Substack, or LinkedIn.
