Citations in Articles
Inline superscript citations, the References section, and when the AI cites sources.
Note: You configure sources in the brief (URLs, files, web research toggle) — there is no separate source-picking grid before generation.
When you provide sources, the AI can cite them inline within your article.
Citation format
Citations appear as superscript numbers linked to the source:
According to recent data, 73% of marketers prioritize content quality<a href="https://example.com/report" data-citation="1">[1]</a>.
References section
A References section is automatically added at the end of the article listing all cited sources in order:
<h2>References</h2>
<ol class="references-list">
<li><a href="https://example.com/report">Marketing Trends Report 2024</a> - example.com</li>
</ol>
The AI only cites when using specific facts, statistics, quotes, or claims from sources. General knowledge statements do not receive citations.
