Keyboard Shortcuts for Outlines
Tab and Shift+Tab for heading levels, plus undo and redo in the outline editor.
Speed up your outline editing with these keyboard shortcuts:
Changing heading levels
| Shortcut | Action |
|---|---|
| Tab | Indent section (H2 → H3 → H4) |
| Shift + Tab | Outdent section (H4 → H3 → H2) |
These shortcuts work when your cursor is in either the title field or the notes field.
Undo and redo
| Shortcut | Action |
|---|---|
| Ctrl/Cmd + Z | Undo last outline change |
| Ctrl/Cmd + Shift + Z | Redo |
Tips
- Use Tab/Shift+Tab to quickly create hierarchy without reaching for the mouse
- The H2/H3/H4 buttons are also available if you prefer clicking
