Drag-and-Drop Reordering

Move outline sections and their subsections with drag handles and clear drop indicators.

Reorganize your outline by dragging sections to a new position.

How to reorder

  1. Hover over a section to reveal the drag handle on the left
  2. Click and hold the drag handle
  3. Drag the section to its new position
  4. Release to drop

Moving sections with subsections

When you drag a section, all its subsections move with it automatically. For example, if you drag an H2 that has three H3 subsections beneath it, all four sections move together as a group.

Visual indicators

  • A colored line shows where the section will be inserted
  • Dragged sections appear slightly faded in their original position
  • A preview shows all sections being moved

Tip: Use the drop zone at the bottom of the outline to move a section to the end.
